Sustainable investing is supposed to empower people, but instead, it has become something only institutions and businesses can afford. ESG data often sits behind expensive paywalls or is buried buried in hundreds of pages of corporate reports. Young investors, students, and everyday people who actually care about sustainability are left with nothing but general company summaries and unclear ESG scores. Equivest began as a simple question: “Why is transparency a luxury?” As we dug into sustainability reports, we realised two things: The data exists but it's incredibly time consuming to dig through each company reports seperately. Secondly, people want to invest responsibly, but the tools built for them simply don’t exist. So we set out to build a platform where ESG information is transparent and actually usable. A place where every investor can understand a company’s real environmental, social, and governance impact. A place where transparency comes first, and where informed investing isn’t restricted by money or access. Equivest is a step towards a world where sustainability and finance work hand in hand.
